Thomas is a pain in the butt!

Well my sis a while back told me she wanted me to make Jacobi (my nephew) some train booties.  I thought to myself, "Oooooo that would be fun!"  I didn't have a pattern for them so I kinda improvised as i went along.  Needless to say these things took me TWO DAYS to finish!!  Although my sis didn't expect much I wanted to try my best to make them as close to Thomas as I could since Jacobi LOVES Thomas!!!  She was very pleased with the outcome, but I don't think I ever want to make a pair of these again........unless someone wants to pay good money!  Lol.  I sure hope he likes them and I'm happy with the way they turned out!  That's what counts anyways right? Enjoy!

Scarf and headband.

Ok so last week one of my friends was over visiting and asked me what size shoe I wore.  I told her I was a size 9 1/2 and she said she had some brand new Ugg boots at her house that one of her friends couldn't wear and was trying to get rid of.  I have been browsing for boots lately but just haven't made a purchase cause they are SO expensive and was waiting on a sale.  Well she brings them over and they fit like a glove!!!  I asked her how much I owed her and she said NOTHING!!  I was in shock!  These are $70 brand spankin' new boots that I just got for free!!  So one of my friends suggested I make some scarves for her as a thank you.  Well here is my first scarf I have made for her.  I made my own pattern and LOVE the colors!  I sell these on my fb business page for $20.  I'm really pleased with the outcome.

As for my next item, I have the most wonderful nurse practitioner that I take my boys to go see when they're sick. When Keygan was having his colic and spit up issues, she was very understanding and helpful with his condition.  She would always talk about her daughter Piper (LOVE the name!) and how she was exactly the same way. She has even cried with me! Now that's an awesome NP! Well I decided today to make her daughter a headband with a flower as a sign of my appreciation for her.  This is my first headband made like this and I absolutely love this pattern!  I think I'll probably sell a lot of these.  This is my favorite item I've made so far.

 Standing up view.
If you are interested in ordering from me just email me at amberleighhaskins@gmail.com or you can message me on Facebook.  My crochet page on Facebook is "Loop Leigh Loops"  I have pics of all my creations on there!

My new passion.

Well a couple of weeks ago I was looking at some pictures of my friends baby and saw this really cute hat her baby was wearing.  It had been crocheted by a friend of hers.  I thought to myself, "I can do that!". So I got online and looked up anything and everything I possibly could about crocheting.  I already kinda knew how to crochet a little bit, but I only knew one stitch.  I learned so much by researching crochet!  Endless possibilities!!!  I have already made so many things that I would have never imagined making.  I've posted some of my creations.  Also go to my new Facebook page "Loop Leigh Loops" and click on "Like".  If you want to order anything from me just let me know!  All my information is on that page!  Thanks and have a blessed day!

These are some of my favorites I've done so far.  First one is a really cute girls headband.

This really awesome dinosaur hat.  My son loves it too!

Baby girl booties.  I made these for a 9 month old girl.  Used a pattern for the boots part and then added the flowers on cause I thought they would look really cute.

Headband I created on my own.   I think the buttons add so much character!

Car booties!!  So cute and think every little boy should have a pair personally....:)

Halloween 2010

Well we had a fun time this year at halloween.  Our church did their very first trunk or treat and it went well.  Gave out about 250 hot dogs!  We wrapped them all up beforehand had so that took a while but we sure had some good laughs while doing it!
Charlie was an elephant this year.  He didn't keep his costume on for long so I didn't get to take many pics this year.

Keygan and I were Daniel and the lion's den.  He had his costume on for about 2 pics then started screaming cause he wanted it off!!

It was HOT this year.  We were all standing outside 2 hours with the sun beaming on our faces, and in those thick robes and big ol' drapes of fabric on your head it's not the most pleasant situation.  I did enjoy getting to tell all the kids that came by my trunk the story of Daniel in the lion's den.  A lot of them had never heard the story before.  Glad I was able to put a little stamp of Jesus in their hearts.  Can't wait for next year cause I know it's gonna be 10 times better!
